Samarkand is more than 2500 years old.
In the East, Samarkand is called the "precious pearl", "the embodiment of the earth".
Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world, the capital of the legendary Sogdiana - Marakanda, and then the capital of the vast empire of Tamerlane. A museum city, the heart of the caravan trade of the Silk Road, Samarkand has perfectly preserved the unique aura of the Asian Middle Ages.
Today we will visit:
Registan Square - the heart of Samarkand. Registan ("sand square"), which is called the pearl of Central Asia, is one of the most beautiful squares in the world and a symbol of the city. Inside the square are the Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillakori madrassas
Next to Registan Square there is an amazing place that looks like a grandmother's treasure chest - Lena Ladik's art gallery "happy bird". Hospitable hosts will share interesting stories. Antique carpets, chests, scarves, fabrics, skullcaps, jewelry, paintings and of course clothes. Trying on chapans and hand-embroidered dresses, we will get into character and feel like shahzods of Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand and other cities of the Silk Road.
Lunch at a restaurant in the city.
Gur-Emir Mausoleum and the Buri Temple, the tomb of the Timurid dynasty, resembles a blue tulip with closed turquoise petals from afar
Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis (10th-19th centuries) consisting of several mausoleums

Nurullabay Palace, where Asian decor is woven into European architecture. You will see perfectly preserved parquet floors made by Mennonites.
Tash-Khauli Palace, consisting of a labyrinth of more than 120 rooms. You will appreciate the khan's harem, where the wives and numerous concubines of the ruler lived. You will see a secret corridor through which women were led to the khan.
Mausoleum built in honor of Pahlvan Mahmud, a poet with heroic strength. The interior walls of the mausoleum are covered with majolica tiles, creating an openwork weave.
The wooden Juma Mosque of the 10th century, which was preserved even during the Mongol invasion. In this mosque you will see columns decorated with Zoroastrian symbols.
You will also learn about the rich cuisine of Khiva, for lunch we will try Shivit oshi - this was the favorite dish of the Khiva khan. This is Khorezm lagman, or green noodles.
